I’m Monica Paris, and it’s an honor to serve as your City Commissioner for Zone 1 in Daytona Beach. I may not have grown up here, but since moving to Daytona Beach in 2016, this city has become my home in every sense of the word.

About me

I was born in Italy, raised in Brooklyn, New York, and spent my childhood visiting Daytona Beach since the late '80s, thanks to my grandparents, who were snowbirds. Their love for this city left a lasting impression on me, and as I grew older, I always dreamed of one day making Daytona Beach my home. In 2016, that dream became a reality when I moved here full-time, and I’ve been deeply committed to making this community better ever since.

As your City Commissioner, my mission is clear: to represent the people of Zone 1 with integrity, dedication and a strong sense of purpose. I’m passionate about creating a future for Daytona Beach that honors both its rich history and its exciting growth potential.

I’m incredibly proud to be a part of Daytona Beach, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve you as your City Commissioner. Whether you’ve lived here for years or you’re new to the area like I was, I’m here to listen and work with you to build a stronger, brighter future for all of us.

Here are a few key areas I’m focused on:

• Economic Development: Supporting local businesses and attracting new opportunities that will create jobs and stimulate growth in our community. I believe in a thriving economy that benefits everyone in Daytona Beach.

• Public Safety: Ensuring that our community remains a safe and welcoming place for all residents and visitors. I’m committed to working closely with law enforcement, emergency services, and neighborhood organizations to enhance safety across our city.

• Environmental Sustainability: Our beautiful beaches, parks, and natural spaces are the heart of Daytona Beach. I will continue to advocate for policies that protect these treasures while promoting sustainability for future generations.

• Community Engagement: I am always eager to hear from you. I attend regular neighborhood meetings and forums to stay connected with the people I represent. Your concerns, ideas, and feedback help shape my work and ensure that I’m advocating for policies that reflect the needs of our residents.
