Water Meter Replacement Program

Daytona Beach - City Highlights Posted on April 17, 2025

The City of Daytona Beach is undergoing a project to replace residential water meters. While crews will visit around 15,000 addresses, not all meters will be replaced. Some visits will be for troubleshooting or inspection purposes.

This project will help ensure accurate readings and reliable water service.

What to expect during installation:

  • Advance Notification: Residents will receive a minimum of 72 hours' notice before their meter is replaced.
  • No Home Entry Required: Installers will not need to enter your home.
  • Service Interruption: Expect a 30-minute to 1-hour disruption in water service during the meter replacement.
  • Post-Installation: Water service will resume as normal after the new meter is installed. VEPO Metering will hang a door hanger upon completion.
  • Contractor Identification: The city of Daytona Beach has contracted VEPO Metering for the installation of the new meters. VEPO Metering personnel can be identified by their branded shirts, vehicle magnet identifying the partnership between the city and VEPO and badges. If someone requests to enter your home, they are not permitted to do so.
  • Contractor Hours: VEPO Metering crews will operate Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note: While work is scheduled for weekdays, limited weekend work may occur if necessary to make up for weather delays or other unforeseen circumstances. Any weekend work will be communicated in advance, and efforts will be made to minimize disruption.

* Disclaimer: It's important to note that with the increased accuracy of the new meters, some customers may observe higher monthly utility bills, especially if previous meters were underreporting usage.
