APRIL 16, 2025 Today’s City Manager’s Update newsletter features the following topics: Joe’s Crab Shack Sets Sales Record Joe’s Crab Shack on the Daytona Beach Pier posted a record $9.7 million in gross sales for the 2023-2024 lease year. While early 2025 data shows a slight dip, the restaurant remains a strong anchor in our tourist area. Biketoberfest® Master Plan Applications Open Businesses in defined areas can apply to be included in the 33rd Annual Biketoberfest® Master Plan. Deadline for application is Monday, April 28. A City Commission workshop to discuss changes to the Master Plan guidelines for 2026’s biker events is 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the Peabody Auditorium. Down Payment Assistance Program Low-income residents may qualify for up to $50,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance. Water Meter Replacement Program The city is replacing 15,000 residential water meters. Residents will be notified 72 hours in advance. Temporary service disruptions will last 30–60 minutes. Project Updates: - Daytona Stadium: Thousands of bats safely removed and crevices under the bleachers sealed.
- Bethune Point Park: New playground now open.
- Jackie Robinson Ballpark: Foundational work underway; on schedule for a January completion.
- ISB Beach Ramp: Renovations complete with enhanced amenities and open
- Text-to-Pay Parking: Rolling out soon at select beachside lots.
