MAY 21, 2025 In today’s City Manager’s Update newsletter, the following topics are highlighted: - Impact Fees Under Review – The city is considering updating its impact fees to support infrastructure and public services. Public workshops are scheduled for May 22 and 27.
- Water Quality & Fluoride Update – The Water Quality Report for 2024 is now available. Also, due to new state legislation, fluoride will be removed from the city’s drinking water effective July 1, 2025.
- CRA Annual Report Released – This 28-page report highlights transformative projects and redevelopment efforts from October 2023 to September 2024.
- Major Projects in Progress – Updates on construction at Jackie Robinson Ballpark, Fire Station No. 1, ADA sidewalk upgrades on Derbyshire Road and a new Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. bust coming soon.
- New City Podcast Launching —“DB: Unscripted” will debut next month and offers behind-the-scenes conversations with city staff.
- Community Events – Enjoy free concerts at Daisy Stocking Park and the Oceanfront Bandshell, a Memorial Day office closure notice and the MLK bust unveiling on May 31.
